Gr. K-8 Reporting
Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning has introduced the , focusing on reducing class sizes for our youngest learners.
The target is to keep Gr. K-3 as close to 20 students as possible and Gr. 4-8 as close to 25 as possible. When class sizes exceed targets, various forms of support may be provided to address the needs of the students and teachers. This may include support from educational assistants, as well as specialized assistance from Learning Support Teachers, School Guidance Teachers, and Literacy Support Teachers. Furthermore, schools may benefit from additional support, such as professional development opportunities for teachers, access to technological devices, and supplementary learning materials to enrich the educational experience.
The reporting document below lists the average number of students per homeroom in Kindergarten through Grade 8 across all schools in the »ÆÉ«µçÓ°. This reflects the student-to-homeroom-teacher ratio (e.g., an average of 20 corresponds to a 20:1 student-teacher ratio).
